Warner Bros. Animation, Cartoon Network Studios, and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe have announced series greenlights and its development slate. In Foster’s Funtime for Imaginary Friends, a young group of preschool imaginary friends learn from an immature elder friend, Bloo, who unintentionally gets things wrong. The series is a spin-off preschool series of Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. In Adventure Time: Side Quests, the series goes back to the early days when Finn was just a kid, excited to fight monsters and go on epic quests with his best buddy Jake. In stand-alone episodes, our heroes take on classic Adventure Time villains like The Ice King and re-connect with stand-out side characters from the original series. Also coming is a new Untitled Regular Show Project which will see new and old characters appear. In development are Adventure Time: Heyo BMO, Untitled Barbara Throws a Wobbler project, Go-Go Mystery Machine, The Adventure Time Movie, Bad Karma, and Lovey Dovey.
The third and final season of Vikings: Valhalla premieres July 11 on Netflix. Set in the early 11th century, the series chronicles the heroic adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived, Leif Eriksson, his sister, Freydis and the Norwegian prince Harald Sigurdsson. Season Three finds our heroes seven years after the conclusion of Season Two. Freydis is now the undisputed leader of pagan Jomsborg, and Leif and Harald have achieved glory in Constantinople. But greater challenges lie ahead in order for each to reach their ultimate destiny.
Onyx Collective’s UnPrisoned returns for season two July 17 on hulu with all eight episodes. The Alexander family is still a mess. Paige’s therapy practice is in trouble, Finn’s anxiety is through the roof, Edwin is still figuring out how to get his life together outside of prison, and their relationships are more complicated than ever. The family needs help, and it’s time to call in a professional – OTHER than Paige. The Alexanders turn to a “family radical healing coach,” who throws out all the rules to free them of the issues, old wounds and family secrets holding them back.

USA Network has ordered The Rainmaker based on the novel by John Grisham and hit film. Fresh out of law school, Rudy Baylor goes head-to-head with courtroom lion Leo Drummond as well as his law school girlfriend. Rudy, along with his boss and her disheveled paralegal, uncover two connected conspiracies surrounding the mysterious death of their client’s son.
The English dub of The Dangers in My Heart season two premieres June 15 on HIDIVE. The new batch consists of thirteen episodes and one special. Fascinated by murder and all things macabre, Kyotaro fantasizes about acting on his twisted thoughts to the detriment of his classmates. His heart was dark until an encounter with Anna lit a spark within it in a classic tale of antisocial boy meets popular girl. Now they must both navigate a blossoming relationship and defy the expectations they have of each other and themselves.
Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi will face off in a winner takes all hot dog eating contest, Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef, live on Netflix on Labor Day, September 2. For years, the epic rivalry between Chestnut and Kobayashi dominated headlines at the Nathan’s July 4th Hot Dog Eating Contest as the two GOATS battled back and forth for the championship title. The two competitive eating legends have not faced-off in a hot dog eating competition since 2009 – when Chestnut finally bested Kobayashi in a 5 hot dog sudden death eat off. Now 15 years later, Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi are prepared to compete once again. Will Chestnut maintain his current title as the champion hot dog eater? Or will Kobayashi come in with a vengeance, and regain his throne?
Jason George will be returning to Grey’s Anatomy as a series regular when the show returns for season twenty one. George had previously been with the series, first as recurring, then series regular, until his character was spun off into the recently ended Station 19.
Jon Stewart will host special live episodes of The Daily Show following the presidential debates between President Joe Biden and former President Donald J. Trump scheduled for June 27 and September 10. The shows will air live at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Comedy Central.
Late Night With Seth Meyers will no longer feature a house band beginning this fall due to budget cuts. The 8G Band will still provide music for the series, just not live. There has been an in house band since the series premiered over forty years ago.
Prime Video’s House of David has cast its David and other roles. Michael Iskander will portray David, with Ali Suliman as King Saul, Ayelet Zurer as Queen Ahinoam, Saul’s trusted wife, Stephen Lang as Samuel, and Martyn Ford as Goliath. The series tells the story of the ascent of biblical icon, David, who eventually becomes the most famous king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. For one leader to rise, another must fall.
The third and final season of Sweet Home premieres on Netflix July 19. The line between monster and human blurs with each passing moment and humanity grapples with the emergency of neohumans in a world on the brink of annihilation, marking the climax of the monsterization saga. The new season promises to bring a fitting close to the epic series and to complete the stories of each character.
Production has begun on the second season of Prime Video’s Maxton Hall – The World Between Us. Docuseries Sea Change: The Gulf of Maine, a NOVA Special Presentation will premiere July 24 – August 7 at 10 p.m. ET on PBS, the PBS App, and NOVA on YouTube. The series explores a body of water that is warming 97 percent faster than the global ocean, and what that means for the Gulf of Maine – for the animals, for the jobs dependent upon it, and the millions of people along its shores – and may serve as a preview of what could happen worldwide due to climate change. The acclaimed underwater photographer Brian Skerry is a producer of the series, which features his work capturing the beauty of the area in spite of the devastating impact of climate change over the last 40 years. This series is part of a larger project by Skerry to document how warming waters are affecting this unique ecosystem, and includes his cover story on the Gulf of Maine in National Geographic’s June issue.

Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist premieres September 5 on Peacock. Coming of age sci-fi series Me premieres July 12 on Apple TV+. The series follows a 12-year-old kid named Ben who is in the throes of middle school (complete with bullies, crushes and school dances!,) as he adjusts to a newly blended family, AND just realized he has super powers. Throughout the 10-episode season, Ben will go on a journey of self-discovery about what having super powers truly means. He finds an ally in his step sister Max, who helps him harness these powers and uncover the secrets behind the mysteries and tragedies of his community… all while trying to come to terms with what it means to be Ben.
