The fourth and final season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon will premiere on AMC in 2027. Jimmy Smits joins series stars Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride as Walking Dead fan favorites “Daryl” and “Carol” in the highly anticipated new season set in Spain. In the final season, while crossing the ravaged badlands of Spain, “Daryl” (Reedus) and “Carol” (McBride) grasp onto hope – and each other – as uncertainty about their future grows. Smits plays “Captain Alejandro Perkins,” a former U.S. Navy officer and medical doctor who found a unique way to thrive during the apocalypse.

Comedy Central announced Drunk History will return with three brand-new short-form episodes, the series’ first original installments in years. The series will launch on Comedy Central’s YouTube beginning September 15, with a premiere episode about Madonna’s legendary first performance at the inaugural MTV Video Music Awards, starring Meghan Trainor as Madonna. Other featured stories include Frances Perkins, the woman who was the unsung architect of FDR’s New Deal; and the lifelong battle of two men to make the world’s largest ball of twine. Following their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program, South Park is making a big change. Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone announced they would be changing the title of the series from South Park to South America. The Comedy Central series is known for its current events commentary.
Netflix has ordered drama series Lonesome Dove straight to series. It is based on the western novel by Larry McMurtry. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will once again step into the Sunday night spotlight with four special episodes to air post NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcasts, immediately after local news. The first Sunday night show is set for September 27. Fallon will welcome an all-star lineup of guests, including Sylvester Stallone and Luke Bryan. Additional names and subsequent Sunday night show guests will be announced at a later date.

Apple Music is collaborating on Monday Night Football (MNF) music curation for the 2026-27 season. The first song and artist Apple Music has selected is the recently-released single, ‘Dead Fresh’ by Lil Baby, which will run in ESPN’s Week 1 promotional efforts. Week 1’s MNF game is Monday, Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN between the Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs.
Netflix announced that production has begun in the UK on feature film The Inbetweeners 3, a continuation of the hugely popular sitcom and its two record-breaking films.
