The Television Academy and Prime Video announced a landmark six-year agreement establishing Prime Video as the exclusive global home of the Emmy Awards. The new pact succeeds the Television Academy’s traditional “Wheel Deal” rotation among broadcast networks ABC, CBS, FOX and NBC, which concluded with this year’s telecast. By shifting from a rotating model to a dedicated, long-term agreement, the Television Academy has secured a permanent home for the gold standard of excellence available to audiences worldwide. Beginning with the 2027 ceremony, the star-studded event will continue to anchor the television season by airing live in September. In a major win for entertainment fans, the ceremony will not be behind a paywall; instead, the Emmy Awards will be free to view for audiences worldwide.

Two teams of returning Rock the Block all-stars and two teams of television design legends will battle it out on a new block just outside Nashville, Tennessee, in the next season of thee HGTV series. Hosted by popular carpenter, craftsman and design expert Ty Pennington, the competition series will return in 2027. Armed with Music City inspiration and decades of design and renovation know-how, the four dynamic duos will take the stage for an epic home reno showdown highlighting classic Southern architecture and small-town living in hopes of claiming bragging rights and a street named in their honor. Former all-star competitors earning another chance to win will include past Rock the Block champions and married real estate developers Brian and Mika Kleinschmidt (100 Day Dream Home) as well as real estate, home renovation and design pro Mina Starsiak Hawk (Good Bones) paired with real estate expert and contractor Scott McGillivray (Renovation Resort Showdown). Westbrook Studios and The Malar Group today announced a partnership to finance and develop a new slate of film and television projects. The deal pairs Westbrook Studios’ development and production capabilities with The Malar Group’s investment platform. The first project from the partnership is 215, a scripted series based on Will Smith’s early life and his rise alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff as one of hip-hop’s first crossover acts. 215 is set in West Philadelphia in the late 1980s. It follows a quick-witted teenage rapper, the DJ who is his musical other half, and the friends who helped fuel the dream. Together they chase a record deal, money and a way out as the city’s hip-hop scene takes off. Along the way they deal with label meetings, hometown loyalty, sudden fame and the friendships that hold them together, or almost don’t. It’s a story about ambition and brotherhood, and about the moment hip-hop went from the block party to the mainstream, with a group of kids from the 215 leading the way.
