Happy Endings, Don’t Trust The B– In Apt. 23 and Last Man Standing are the last comedies to be renewed by ABC; Reba McEntire’s Malibu Country ordered to series.

Endings is the network’s second highest rated scripted comedy this season. Starring Elisha Cuthbert, Damon Wayans Jr., Eliza Coupe, Adam Pally, Casey Wilson and Zach Knighton, the ensemble comedy follows the lives of a group of friends living in Chicago, each with their own distinct, very unique personalities. The series became a surprise hit for the network when it debuted as a mid-season replacement in 2011. It’s averaged 6.1 million viewers during its second season.

Freshman comedy Apt. 23, starring Krysten Ritter, Dreama walker and James Van Der Beek has performed well in its post-Modern Family timeslot, averaging 5.9 million viewers since its April 11 premiere.

Tim Allen’s Last Man Standing also scored a renewal, averaging 8.5 million viewers for the season. Though the series started off with a strong 12.93 million viewers, the show has since dropped to 6.62 million.

County star Reba McEntire’s Malibu Country was one of the last series to be picked up by the network. The multi-camera comedy is expected to be paired with Last Man Standing during the 2012-2013 season. The series also stars Sara Sue. Country’s pickup brings ABC final tally to 9 pilots — five dramas and four comedies for the next season.

Endings and Apt. 23 joins the list of comedies renewed by the network yesterday — Suburgatory, The Middle and Modern Family.

The Ashley Judd drama Missing was not renewed for a second season.
