All My Children went back into production today, with the actors making their way to the set for the first day of filming. A slew of casting news has been released from The Online Network, actors and other outlets announcing the actors who’ll be taking over the roles of JR Chandler, Adam Chandler III, Petey Cortlandt, Cassandra Foster, Miranda Montgomery and more.
As previously reported, former Price is Right model Robert Scott Wilson, will be taking on the coveted role of Palmer and Opal’s son Pete “Petey” Cortlandt. In addition, Pine Valley will also see some familiar faces returning as Eden Riegel, Ray MacDonnell and Jennifer Bassey are expected to reprise their roles as Bianca Montgomery, Joe and Marion Martin, respectively.
One of the biggest questions involving AMC’s casting was who would be playing the vital role of JR Chandler. Last played by Jacob Young from 2003 – 2011, JR was at the center of many storylines during the final years of AMC’s television run. With Young now on contract at The Bold and the Beautiful, the role would need to be recast.
After a long search, Soap Opera Digest confirmed reports that Sweet Valley High alum Ryan Bittle (Dawson’s Creek, The New Normal) landed the part. The 36-year old actor Bittle appeared on All My Children once before in 2010, playing Madison’s (Stephanie Gatschet) date Logan. Meanwhile, Jill Larson took to popular social networking site Facebook to announce the role of AJ Chandler (Adam Chandler III) will be played by Eric Nelsen (NYC 22, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife)
Despite earlier reports to the contrary, the role of Miranda Montgomery will be played by former Disney Channel and Nickelodeon star Denyse Tontz (Big Time Rush, Dog with a Blog). Saleisha “Sal” Stowers has been cast as Angie Hubbard’s daughter Cassandra Foster, last played by Yaya DaCosta. Stowers is an alum of America’s Next Top Model. Her other credits include appearances on The New Girl and The Exes.
Filling out the Pine Valley teen scene is Dorell Anthony, Jordan Lee Price, and Natasha Tax. Their roles are unknown at this time.
More casting news is expected to be announced in the coming days. TVSource Magazine will continue to provide updates as warranted with the most accurate information available. Are you excited to see these actors debut? Who are you looking forward to the most?
