HBO Max has renewed Our Flag Means Death for a second season. Season one was (very) loosely based on the true adventures of 18th century would-be pirate Stede Bonnet, played by Rhys Darby. After trading in the seemingly charmed life of a gentleman for one of a swashbuckling buccaneer, Stede became captain of the pirate ship Revenge. Struggling to earn the respect of his potentially mutinous crew, Stede’s fortunes changed after a fateful run-in with the infamous Captain Blackbeard, played by Waititi. To their surprise, the wildly different Stede and Blackbeard found more than friendship on the high seas… they found love. Now they have to survive it.

The series also stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz and Thomas Haden Church. The live action series is an adaptation of the video game series.

Apple TV+ has renewed Slow Horses for season three and season four. The series was previously renewed for a second season which will premiere later this year. In season three, Jackson Lamb’s disgraced spies work together to foil a rogue agent when one of their own is kidnapped. HGTV’s No Demo Reno returns for season two June 23. Jenn Todryk combines clever design solutions and cost-effective ideas to create stunning home overhauls for clients in the Dallas-Fort Worth area – often without removing walls or tackling large-scale demo. She works within each home’s existing footprint to save the family time, money and stress and ultimately delivers an astonishing reveal. The season will consist of ten episodes.

HBO’s docuseries Mind Over Murder premieres June 20. The series chronicles the bizarre and psychologically complex story of six individuals who were convicted for the 1985 murder of a beloved 68- year-old grandmother, Helen Wilson, in Beatrice, Nebraska. Despite five of the individuals originally confessing to the crime, the “Beatrice Six” as they became known, were exonerated by DNA evidence in 2009, a turn of events which divided the rural town and incensed the family of Helen Wilson. As the filmmakers track the case from the murder, through investigation, trial, exoneration and two civil suits, shifting perspectives cloud the truth; a stranger-than-fiction tale emerges that raises salient questions about the reliability of confessions and memory in criminal cases.
