Season three of The Diplomat premieres October 16 on Netflix. Ambassador Kate Wyler (Keri Russell) lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want. She just accused Vice President Grace Penn (Allison Janney) of hatching a terrorist plot and admitted she’s after the VP’s job. But now the President is dead, Kate’s husband Hal (Rufus Sewell) may have inadvertently killed him, and Grace Penn is leader of the free world. None of this slows Hal’s campaign to land Kate the vice presidency. Kate steps into a role she never wanted, with a freedom she never expected, an increasingly complicated friendship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi), and an unnerving bond with First Gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford). 

Mark Rober, the former NASA engineer turned social media star, teacher, inventor, and philanthropist, is coming to Netflix with a new Kids and Family competition series in 2026. In addition to the new show, Rober will bring some of his most beloved, ambitious, and informative experiments to Netflix later this year. 

Magnolia Table: At the Farm premieres September 7 on Magnolia Network, Food Network and HBO Max. The series is a refreshed take on the 8-season veteran series Magnolia Table. Hosted by Joanna Gaines, the series invites viewers into a brand-new setting at the Gaines’ family kitchen for a season centered on the art of baking – featuring cherished family recipes, seasonal favorites, and simple, sweet comforts.  Joanna welcomes viewers into her home to share cherished family recipes and seasonal favorites – from quick snacks to Sunday treats. Along the way, she offers helpful cooking tips, celebrates the beauty of fresh ingredients, and invites audiences to enjoy the simple pleasures of time spent in some of her favorite spaces around the farm. 

Netflix has renewed Dept. Q for a second season. The gripping crime procedural series is an adaptation of Jussi Adler-Olsen’s novels. Matthew Goode will return as DCI Carl Morck along with his team of misfits – Alexej Manvelov as Akram, Leah Byrne as Rose and Jamie Sives as Hardy. DCI Carl Morck heads up the maverick Dept. Q from the basement of an Edinburgh police station. Charged with cases previously deemed unsolvable, this darkly humorous, propulsive show delivers all the pleasures of a procedural, taking us into the complex mysteries not just of the cases but of the detectives themselves.

House of Guinness will premiere on Netflix on September 2. The series explores an epic story inspired by one of Europe’s most famous and enduring dynasties – the Guinness Family. Set in 19th-century Dublin and New York, the story begins immediately after the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man responsible for the extraordinary success of the Guinness brewery, and the far-reaching impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children, Arthur, Edward, Anne, and Ben, as well as on a group of Dublin characters who work and interact with the phenomenon that is Guinness.

Natalie Dormer will star in the new Netflix series set in the Extraction universe. Dormer joins the previously announced Omar Sy and Boyd Holbrook. In this action-packed thriller, a mercenary embarks on a dangerous mission to rescue hostages in Libya. Trapped between warring factions and ruthless killers, he must navigate life-or-death choices while confronting deep emotional wounds. The series explores the trauma, betrayal, and moral conflicts of characters pushed to the edge. 

Netflix has renewed America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for a third season. With the latest auditions and training camp complete and football season about to kick off, cameras have been rolling in Texas capturing every moment for Season 3. The fan-favorite series will return to continue giving viewers unfiltered access into this iconic team and franchise. Season 3 will follow the 2025-26 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad from start to finish – kicking off at auditions and training camp and continuing all the way through the NFL season. It will premiere in 2026. 

Mandy Moore will star in hulu’s upcoming NFL drama series. She joins Christopher Meloni and William H. Macy who also star. She will also reunite with This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman. 

Season two of Fallout will premiere this December on Prime Video. The new season will pick up in the aftermath of Season One’s epic finale and take audiences along for a journey through the wasteland of the Mojave to the post-apocalyptic city of New Vegas. Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, the series is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. Two-hundred years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind – and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird, and highly violent universe waiting for them.

Netflix has renewed Better Late Than Single for a second season. The dating makeover reality series follows lifelong singles (known as motae-solos in Korean) as they take on the challenge of their very first romances. 

Ryan Paevey is returning to General Hospital. No word on who he will be playing as his previous character was killed off. Hiss first appearance will happen in September on ABC. 

MSNBC will be changing its name to MS NOW. The new name stands for My Source News Opinion World. The change will take place once NBC spins off the network, and other cable networks, into a new company called Versant. NBC News will no longer be a part of the network once the split is made. CNBC will keep the same name as it stands for Consumer News and Business Channel. USA Network and Golf Channel will be a part of USA Sports once it splits from NBC Sports. All brands will also remove the NBC “peacock” logo with the split. 

Old Dog, New Tricks premieres October 3 on Netflix. The series tells the story of Antón, a rural Galician veterinarian who, amid the ongoing crisis in the farming world, finds himself without clients because his neighbors can no longer afford to pay him. With few options left, he accepts a job offer from his niece Uxía, the upbeat manager of a boutique pet store – a perfectly designed, colorful space stocked with more gourmet products than a supermarket. Between dog grooming sessions, hamster check-ups, and pet owners who are fussier than their animals, Antón soon realizes that surviving in this new ecosystem won’t be easy. 

Disney has ordered Coven Academy to series. The single-camera, supernatural dramedy, set against the moody backdrop of New Orleans, follows a trio of teenage witches-in-training who are bound by destiny to guard their city against dangerous, ancient forces. Between unraveling dark secrets, mastering volatile magic, and facing off against distractingly cute rivals, they must also navigate the heartbreaks and deep bonds that come with growing up. The series stars Malina Pauli Weissman as Briar, Tiffani Thiessen as Miss Graves, Malachi Barton as Jake, Louis Thresher as Ollie, Jordan Leftwich as Sasha and Ora Duplass as Tegan. Recurring guest stars include Brendon Tremblay as Alexander, Swayam Bhatia as McKenna, and Keegan Connor Tracy as Tamora. 

The first performers and honorees have been revealed for the 2025 MTV VMAs, hosted by LL Cool J, airing September 7 on CBS and simulcast on MTV. Alex Warren, Busta Rhymes, J Balvin ft. DJ Snake, Ricky Martin, Sabrina Carpenter and sombr are the first round of superstar performers. Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes will receive the MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award; global icon Ricky Martin will be honored with the Latin Icon Award. 

Search for the Truth: The Amanda Knox Story will air August 22 on ABC. The timely special features an exclusive primetime interview with Amanda Knox, who discusses the yearslong battle to prove her innocence after being wrongfully convicted of her roommate’s 2007 murder. Knox speaks candidly about the profound toll of her wrongful conviction, the global media frenzy that shaped the public’s perception of her, and the lingering impact of misinformation and speculation that have followed her ever since. The one-hour special goes beyond the headlines and offers an unfiltered look at a very different Amanda in the aftermath. Knox also talks about her involvement as an executive producer in hulu’s upcoming limited series inspired by her story, The Twisted Tale of Amanda Knox, premiering August 20. Creator, executive producer and showrunner of the Hulu series K.J. Steinberg, executive producers Monica Lewinsky and Warren Littlefield and Grace Van Patten, who plays Amanda, are also interviewed in the ABC primetime special. 

Dance Moms: A New Era premieres September 8 on Lifetime. The reboot series introduces beloved dance coach, Glo Hampton, who wants to take her students and prestigious dance school Studio Bleu to the next level, competing nationally every week. But the road to glory won’t be an easy one. Coach Glo must juggle her tiny but mighty dancers, their scheming moms, and ensuing meltdowns, all while ruling with a tender but tough iron fist. Will Glo and her dance team persevere amidst the dramatics? 

Secrets of Celebrity Sex Tapes premieres September 8 on A&E. Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test returns for season four September 25 on Fox. The new season enlists a new troop of household names to endure some of the harshest, most grueling challenges from the playbook of the actual Special Forces selection process. The 18 new recruits are: Kody Brown, Brittany Cartwright, Randall Cobb, Eric Decker, Jessie James Decker, Andrew East, Shawn Johnson East, Mark Estes, Gia Giudice, Teresa Giudice, Chanel Iman, Brianna LaPaglia, Johnny Manziel, Eva Marcille, Ravi V. Patel, Christie Pearce Rampone, Jussie Smollett and Nick Young. This this time around, the recruits will be training in Morocco and will endure the extreme circumstances of urban warfare. New this season, some recruits will arrive in pairs consisting of spouses and family members, but will compete individually. All recruits must learn the art of getting comfortable with being uncomfortable as they are faced with training challenges across the country’s expansive desert terrain, including a supply search in an abandoned village where they must race to extraction, a treacherous rat-run through dark and narrow tunnels, a plane shell dunk drill where pairs of recruits will be submerged underwater and must escape, a death-defying urban ladder crossing between buildings 50 ft above the urban streets, and much more. In this experiment, there are no votes and no eliminations – just survival. These celebrities, who are so used to being in the spotlight, will quickly learn the meaning of “no guts, no glory” – and no glam.
