Anime series Blue Eye Samurai premieres October 27 on Netflix. Set in Edo-period Japan, the series follows Mizu, a mixed-race master of the sword who lives a life in disguise seeking the deliverance of revenge. The provocative and visually stunning cinematic series immerses the viewer in a world of vivid adult animation with a live-action edge. Voice cast includes Maya Erskine, George Takei, Masi Oka, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Brenda Song, Darren Barnet, Randall Park, and Kenneth Branagh. The English dub of 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, REALLY Love You premieres October 29 on Crunchyroll. Rentaro Aijo was rejected 100 times in middle school. NBC will celebrate the winter holidays with music legend Barry Manilow’s A Very Barry Christmas December 11. The special will be filmed at Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino where he performs his smash hit show, “Manilow: Las Vegas – The Hits Come Home!” With a Vegas-size backdrop and Manilow’s renowned 24-piece band, the evening will feature the best of his greatest hits, including “Copacabana,” “Mandy,” “I Write the Songs” and “Looks Like We Made It” along with several holiday favorites such as “Jingle Bells,” “Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer,” “Feliz Navidad” and “White Christmas.” The evening may also include an appearance by Santa himself.
Netflix has ordered Mercy for None to series. So Ji-sub returns to the underworld after 11 years, embarking on a ruthless mission of revenge triggered by the mysterious death of his younger brother.
Tribunal Justice has been renewed for a second season on Amazon Freevee. The court series features Judge Tanya Acker, Judge Patricia DiMango Judge Adam Levy as they handle cases. Episodes release weekly with the first season finale airing December 1.

LEGO Marvel Avengers: Code Red is streaming now on Disney+. In the animated special, The Avengers assemble to save New York City from the threat of the Red Skull and his Hydra forces. In the midst of the battle, the Avengers are unexpectedly joined by Black Widow’s father, Red Guardian, which doesn’t go over well with Natasha. After an argument with his daughter about his well-intentioned helicopter parenting, Red Guardian disappears under mysterious circumstances. As Black Widow and the Avengers investigate, they discover that the villainous Collector is kidnapping every character who has “red” in their name.
Black Girls Play premieres on ESPN November 12. The series chronicles the origins of the hand games that have been played by young Black girls for generations, and their influence on music, dance, and community all across the American creative landscape. Tracing the beginnings of the games all the way back to the slavery era, the film’s collection of illuminating voices – including musicians, music educators and ethnomusicologists – trace a fascinating cultural history that explains the significance of hand games, particularly in the evolution of popular music from jazz all the way to hip hop. The film also explores hand games’ influence on style and individualism everywhere from the playground to TikTok videos today. And it also questions why so much of the popular culture to come out of hand games has been dominated by men, when young girls were its original creators.

First Lady of the United States Jill Biden and former First Lady of the United States Laura Bush join Nickelodeon, ATTN: and iCivics to unveil Well Versed a new animated musical short-form series designed to help revitalize civic education for kids. The series aims to help teach kids about democracy and the U.S. Bill of Rights in fun and imaginative ways through original pop songs. With a curriculum guided by iCivics, the nation’s premiere non-profit civic education provider for students, parents and teachers, the series of 12 music videos will launch across Nickelodeon platforms, Paramount+ and Noggin, beginning November 1.
